Jace, born in 1973 in Saint-Pierre, Réunion Island, is one of the defining figures of French street art. He first immersed himself in the vibrant creative pulse of Paris in the late 1980s, drawn to the emerging graffiti culture. The city quickly became his playground — a visual laboratory where he shaped a distinctive style blending humor, mischief, and poetic commentary.

With a background in fine arts, Jace refined a graphic language that would soon become unmistakable, centered around his now-iconic character: the Gouzou. This faceless, playful little figure appears across the globe, hijacking urban landscapes with wit and charm. More than a signature, the Gouzou is a companion — a universal wink that offers a new reading of the city.

From the early 2000s onward, Jace naturally expanded his practice into new mediums. Canvas works, sculptures, installations… his pieces left the walls without ever losing the spontaneity and accessibility rooted in his street origins. Today, from Réunion to Paris and countless cities worldwide, his interventions continue to surprise, inspire smiles, and remind us that art often thrives where we least expect it.
