Alx is a self-taught French artist who has been imagining, inventing, and creating since childhood.
His passion for discovery and sharing with others naturally led him toward art, allowing him to combine two of his greatest interests: creation and reflection, both of which continuously fuel his imagination.
Deeply sensitive to aesthetics, shapes, and movement, he naturally turned toward optical art, which became a major source of inspiration for his artistic practice.
His preferred medium is plexiglass, a material that brings his innovative ideas to life. Alx is known for his unique technique, creating artworks that cleverly play with perspective, depth, and the viewer’s movement.
He draws inspiration from both the past and the present. He is particularly fascinated by iconic figures, movie characters, and cultural references that shaped his childhood. Through this, he builds immersive visual universes where light, volume, and forms constantly interact.
Each artwork begins with a specific foreground shape before gradually revealing a more complex image hidden in the background. His work, both captivating and emotional, tells visual stories that invite viewers to look beyond the surface.
“Slice” is the term he uses to define his artistic approach. These “slices” reveal fragments of the artwork that appear and disappear depending on the spectator’s movements.
Movement plays a central role in the perception of the artwork as a whole. The intensity and direction of light are also essential elements contributing to the kinetic effect sought by the artist.
In May 2026, Alx joined Galerie Outsiders in Rouen, where his work became part of the gallery’s program dedicated to optical art, movement, and contemporary visual perception.
